Always available, even when things are tough.
Red Hat Device Edge is a platform specifically developed for edge devices. By edge devices, we mean devices located within an organisation's network that process data or perform actions locally – outside of the traditional data centre. They can be connected to the internet, but also function perfectly well in an isolated environment. Independent and self-sufficient, just like a good IT professional. USN now has extensive experience with this platform and is already applying it in production environments for customers.
By equipping these devices with Red Hat Device Edge, an immutable and resilient system is created, resistant to power outages or network problems, for example. Every update is transactional and differential, allowing updates to be carried out quickly and efficiently. Without you having to go to it yourself with a USB stick ;-).
Upon startup, the system automatically performs health checks. If these fail, it automatically reverts to the previous working configuration. This maximises device availability – even under less than ideal conditions – and enables remote management without the need for physical intervention on site. This is particularly valuable for devices in remote or hard-to-reach locations.
USN supports organisations in designing, building, and managing these types of edge platforms – both on a small and large scale.
